Dr Geoff Pegg, recently named ‘Environmental Biosecurity Award’ winner in the 2020 National Biosecurity Awards, has just completed a wonderful project with the Butchulla Land and Sea Rangers. The project increased their biosecurity capacity, and developed a number of training modules that can be adapted for other training groups.

‘Protecting our native environments, and the cultural and ecological values within them, from exotic forest pests and diseases is a challenge. To meet this challenge, developing partnerships and sharing knowledge is important. We can all contribute to protecting our unique ecosystems. This project was a great way to learn and share with each other.’

More information on the project, and Geoff’s report including images of the training modules can be found here.
